The AN/PVS-14 is a light
weight, multi-purpose, monocular night vision with similar
key features found in the AN/PVS-7B/D single tube night
vision goggles. The objective and eyepiece assemblies allow
attachment of similar accessories and the head/helmet mount
adapter is exactly the same. Also available is a weapon
mount adapter to allow the system to be mounted on the M16/M4
Picatinny style rail. A long list of optional accessories
allows configuration to meet all customer requirements.
The U.S. Army has adopted the AN/PVS-14 as its standard
monocular device. It is a self-contained system operating
on 2AA batteries and features manual gain control to meet
various brightness conditions. A red low-battery indicator
appears in the eyepiece when battery replacement is needed.
The system also features a projected IR LED for short
range illumination for such activities as map reading.
The AN/PVS-14 is supplied with the Military headstrap
for hands-free use and has many optional accessories.
This package includes the PVS-14D, Military headstrap,
sacrificial window, demist shield, batteries, manual and
carry case.
